September 25, 2006 - Mandarino Wins Stars Finale
Toronto, Ontario- After a challenging season both stateside and abroad, KLS Racing factory driver Lorenzo Mandarino finally captures the top spot on the podium. Lorenzo was the fastest all day during Friday’s timed practice sessions at Woodbine Raceway in Toronto.

In Saturday’s qualifying session Lorenzo was only 5th fastest behind some of the season’s toughest competitors. Lorenzo made contact with Carlton during the first heat but still managed a 4th place finish. It was more of the same for the second heat as he kept his fourth place starting position going into heat 3.

In the 3rd heat, Lorenzo made a daring pass on Carlton in turn 11, advancing to the 3rd spot where he would finish. He would start the final on the inside of row 2.

In the final, Velez, Jurca, and Lorenzo broke away from the rest of the field. The three would keep that order until the halfway mark, when Jurca got inside of Velez with Lorenzo in tow. He followed Jurca and with a few laps to go, Lorenzo dove inside at turn 10 taking the first spot where he would finish, taking his first Stars finish all year.
